Public transportation

Elzenveld is located in Antwerp’s historical center. The easiest way to reach it is by public transportation. Tramlines 4 and 7 stop at Mechelseplein; right in front of Elzenveld.

If you arrive by train in Antwerp at the Central Station, take tramline 9 or 15 from Antwerp Premetrostation Diamant (tram stop at the Central Station) to Antwerp Premetrostation Meir. From the Meir it is a short walk (10 minutes) to Elzenveld. (Directions)

Alternatively, without taking the tram, Elzenveld is within walking distance (20 minutes) of the Central Station.

If you arrive by train in Antwerp at Berchem Station, take tramline 4 from Berchem Station platform 13 (at the square in front of Berchem station) to Antwerp Mechelseplein (right in front of Elzenveld). (Directions)

Antwerp features the Velo public bikesharing system. At various places throughout the Antwerp city center bike stations are located where bikes can be rented. Subscriptions can be bought for a day or a week, and for maximum convenience should preferably be bought beforehand. The first half hour of each bike ride is free; in case you bike longer, you have to pay an additional amount.

There is a bike station available near Elzenveld, at Lange Gasthuisstraat 3. Other bike stations are available throughout the whole city center.

For more information, see the Velo webite.

It is not recommended to come by car: the Antwerp city center does not feature free parking spots and the traffic around Antwerp daily features long traffic jams.

If you do come by car, you can park in a parking garage nearby. The (paying) Indigo car park Nationale Bank is only a short walk away.

Alternatively, you can park your car outside the city center at one of the park and rides. From the park and rides you can take the public transportation to the Antwerp city center.
